The Keep Cruelty History campaign is run by the League Against Cruel Sports to highlight the fact that some politicians want to bring back hunting with dogs and persuade as many people as possible that the Hunting Act must stay. The League has campaigned lawfully for 86 years to expose and end cruelty to animals in sport.

Since the Act came into force, we've been working with the Police and the Crown Prosecution Service to make sure that it's enforced. It's made a real difference. There have been almost 140 police prosecutions under the Act. It's clear proof that hunters are being held to account for their cruel acts.

We are campaigning as hard as possible to make the public's voice heard - telling politicians that the majority wants this cruel 'sport' to remain illegal. And we need your help.

The government has announced that there will be a free vote for MPs on whether to devote time to repealing the ban on hunting. We do not know when this vote will be but we are making sure that MPs know that people want them to vote NO. There is likely to only be a few days notice of when the vote will be and in this time we will launch a major awareness campaign to galvanise the public.

Surveys show repeatedly that around three quarters of the people support the Act and do not support repeal. Setting dogs onto animals for sport is cruel and barbaric and has no place in a modern society. Repeal of the Hunting Act 2004 would bring back hare hunting and coursing for sport as well as fox deer and mink hunting, all traditional bloodsports made crimes by the Hunting Act.

Its future depends on determined campaigning now by everyone opposed to cruelty to animals. That's why we urgently need your support. The situation is critical and your help might just make the difference between success and failure.
